Role and Responsibilities
- Business Partnering:
Build strong and collaborative relationships with multiple teams and leaders (e.g.
Business teams, external stakeholders, marketing, supply, warehouse, etc) to
understand business priorities and challenges.
Proactively identify and analyze key business drivers and trends impacting external marketplace performance.
Translate business objectives into financial targets and track progress towards achieving them.
Provide insightful and actionable financial analysis to support decision-making across all aspects of the external marketplace business. - Financial Planning & Analysis:
Develop and maintain accurate and timely financial forecasts and budgets for the vertical.
Conduct in-depth financial analysis on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as revenue, gross margin, customer acquisition cost (CAC), customer lifetime value (CLTV),and conversion rates.
Analyze marketing spend effectiveness and ROI across various channels (e.g., paid advertising, social media, email marketing).Prepare insightful presentations and reports to communicate financial performance and insights to senior management. - Strategic Initiatives:
Support the development and evaluation of new initiatives and strategies including development of business models for such initiatives.
Conduct financial feasibility studies and business case analyses for new product launches, marketing campaigns, and pricing strategies.
Identify and quantify potential risks and opportunities within the business. - Accounting & Control:
Responsible for the month-end close process for the business, including revenue recognition, expense analysis, and reconciliations.
Responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the verticals balance sheet.
Ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls.
Monitor and analyze key financial metrics to identify and address any potential issues or discrepancies. - Process Improvement:
Continuously identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting and analysis.
Develop and maintain robust financial models and reporting dashboards.
Automate routine tasks to free up time for strategic analysis.
Qualifications:
- MBA in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field or a Chartered Accountant.
- 5 years of overall experience in financial analysis, with a strong preference for experience with a brand listed on major e-commerce platforms / similar brands.
Skills:
- Good accounting skills are a great plus.
- Has an eye for detail and understand the challenges of exploring new business opportunities
- Proven experience in building and maintaining strong relationships with business partners.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, including data analysis and modeling techniques.
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- A highly motivated and results-oriented individual with a strong work ethic and a passion for e-commerce and new business.
